About The Director/Owner
Meet Cheryl L. Thompson
Hello and welcome! I’m Cheryl L. Thompson, the Director and Owner of Quality Academy Home Daycare. I’m a licensed professional childcare provider in the state of North Carolina, with over 15 years of experience working with children.
I’ve had the joy of raising a son and a daughter of my own, and I’m now a proud grandmother of three. Growing up in a large family with nine sisters and two brothers, and witnessing my parents’ 48-year marriage, shaped my deep appreciation for strong family values and support systems.
Before opening my own daycare, I worked at Branford Daycare Center in Branford, Connecticut for 10 years. I later opened my first in-home daycare in New Haven, Connecticut, known as The Caring Place. I hold certifications in Early Childhood Education and CPR, and I bring passion, patience, and genuine love to every child in my care.
Our Story
Quality Care With A Personal Touch
Quality Academy Home Daycare was born from a desire to create a nurturing, safe, and developmentally enriching space for young children. From the start, my goal has been to help children gain confidence, independence, and a strong sense of self.
At Quality Academy, we believe learning should be joyful and every child deserves the chance to grow at their own pace—socially, emotionally, and intellectually. We work closely with families to ensure every child receives personalized attention, support, and the encouragement they need to thrive.
Children’s smiles and hugs are the heart of what we do, and every day is a new opportunity to guide, inspire, and celebrate their progress.
Philosophy & Mission
As a childcare provider, my goal is to provide a safe, loving, happy environment where lots of attention will be given to help your child learn and grow physically, emotionally, intellectually, and socially at their own pace. Activities will be offered to stimulate motor development, language, and social interaction. Children will be taught to respect each other, adults, and property. I believe all children are a blessing, and with our help, we can help them become the persons they can be.
Big hearts. Little learners.
Where giggles, growth, and guidance happen every day.
